Forgetful..

About a week ago, I lost a cousin who passed away at the young age of 27. He has not been well for quite some times mostly due to his weak heart. In fact he has been using an artificial valve to keep the blood pumping.
His sudden death came as a shock to all of us. I felt he was too young to die. His artificial valve sort of malfunctioned, pumping too fast causing his blood to shoot up to the brain, creating a blood clot and causing a stroke. And he died the next morning.
His death sent me thinking.. That all this while i have taken a lot of things for granted. I don't need an artificial valve to keep on breathing, and yet i am not being thankful enough to Allah. Forgive me God for being so forgetful. I shouldn't have been.
