Marketing Gimmick

As I was going home from work yesterday, a friend of mine called. He wanted to know whether I'm interested to utilize a hotel accommodation voucher he won from a Carrefour Contest. But the funny thing is I need to pick up the voucher first from POGH. Upon discovering that the voucher is from POGH, I sensed something fishy. I asked why wouldn't he himself utilize the voucher & my friend said it's intended for married couple only.
POGH voucher & married couple. That rings a bell in my head. Very loud & clear. I've fallen prey into this scam once. They promised an accommodation voucher but I needed to go & pick it up from POGH. They told me there's gonna be an hour briefing session before I could collect the voucher. But we ended up with them for almost 3 long hours. And not just that. The sales person is very very rude. She kind of forced us to take POGH membership club which we of course were not interested in. And she took us for a tour around POGH to see their gym, treatment centre, swimming pool & recreational area.. in the middle of the night! To make things worse, I was having bad period cramps that nite & Iris also had become cranky & bored stiff. But the sales person just kept on babbling & babbling non-stop. Until in the end we asked to see the manager in charge & ended the session there.
To make things even worse, we didn't even get POGH accommodation voucher. What we got is Kajang Country Heights accommodation voucher. We really felt cheated & extremely annoyed with the sales person's attitude. And all the promises made during the phone call conversation that lured us to go there.
I relate the incident to my friend just so he doesn't fall victim like me. And I lost respect for POGH since that day onwards.
